Sacred Heart Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week

Jumping for a Cause
Jump Rope for Heart is a National program of the American Heart Association. The program is designed to educate kids in school about their own heart, how it works and how to protect it. Classmates find out more about heart disease and learn ways to lead healthier and longer lives. They also learn about other kids who have special hearts – kids with hearts that don’t work right. This program encourages kids to raise money that will be sent to the American Heart Association to pay for new medicines and treatments. Sacred Heart kids, grades 2 -6, are excited to participate in Jump Rope For Heart unit in physical education classes. Jump Rope for Heart banners (since 2006-07 school year) are proudly displayed in the school gym. On January 30th, kids will hold a special Jump for Rope Event and the money raised will go the American Heart Association.

The students pictured here have participated every year since second grade - Garrett Meitner, Olivia Wolfe, Christopher Schneider. Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Corrine Thompson is wearing her new 2012 Jump Rope for Heart T-shirt.
